Our LW8-40.5AG series outdoor high-voltage SF6 circuit breakers are three-phase AC 50Hz apparatus designed for control and protection in 40.5kV transmission and distribution systems, suitable for tie applications and capacitor bank switching.

• Rated voltage of 40.5kV with rated current options at 1600A and 2000A; rated short-circuit breaking current up to 31.5kA with short-circuit making current up to 80kA for robust fault interruption.

• Puffer-type arc-extinguishing chamber delivers excellent interrupting performance with long electrical endurance, eliminating the need for SF6 gas replacement.

• Mechanical endurance of 3000 operations with high mechanical reliability, suitable for frequent switching applications.

• Each unit accommodates 6 to 12 built-in current transformers for flexible configuration; equipped with MKZ-type SF6 pointer density gauge unaffected by temperature changes for convenient monitoring.

• Capacitor bank breaking current up to 400A; closing time ≤0.1s and opening time ≤0.07s for rapid fault clearing.

• Complies with GB1984, IEC 56, and IEC 62271-100 standards; minimum service temperature of -30°C.

Product Overview

The LW8-40.5 and LW8A-40.5 series SF₆ circuit breakers are three-phase AC 50Hz outdoor high-voltage electrical apparatus, suitable for control and protection in 40.5kV transmission and distribution systems. They can also be used as tie circuit breakers and for switching capacitor banks. This product can be equipped with a CT14 spring operating mechanism. The circuit breakers comply with the requirements of the Chinese National Standard GB1984-1989 "AC High-Voltage Circuit-Breakers" and the International Electrotechnical Commission standards IEC 56 and IEC 62271-100 "High-voltage alternating-current circuit-breakers".

The product features excellent interrupting performance, employing a puffer-type arc-extinguishing chamber for long electrical endurance without the need for SF₆ gas replacement. It offers high mechanical reliability, long mechanical life, and is suitable for frequent operations. Each unit can be fitted with 6 to 12 current transformers for user selection. The product utilizes a new MKZ-type SF₆ pointer density gauge, whose reading is unaffected by temperature changes, ensuring convenient use.
