FAQ
Q: What are the main differences between medium-voltage and low-voltage switchgear?
A: The primary differences lie in voltage grade and applications. MV switchgear (1kV-52kV) serves as primary distribution equipment. LV switchgear (≤1000V AC) functions as terminal distribution equipment. Structurally, MV emphasizes phase and ground insulation distances, while LV focuses on protection coordination and operational convenience.
Q: What special requirements apply to mining switchgear?
A: Mining switchgear must adapt to harsh underground environments: compact construction (minimized volume), high ingress protection (≥IP54), moisture/dust-proof design, and comprehensive insulation monitoring. It must comply with GB/T 12173 and other mining-specific standards, suited for humid, dusty, vibratory conditions.
Q: What is the service life of power distribution equipment?
A: Under normal use and maintenance, design life is typically 20-30 years. Mechanical components like breakers may require mid-life maintenance or replacement depending on operating frequency. Regular maintenance significantly extends service life.
Q: What is the "five-interlock" system?
A: The five-interlock system comprises five safety functions preventing maloperation: preventing incorrect breaker opening/closing; preventing moving switches under load; preventing closing earthing switch with power on; preventing energizing with earthing connection; preventing access to live compartments. It is fundamental to switchgear operational safety.
