Products Description
Fiberglass-covered wire is manufactured by uniformly wrapping 1–2 layers of alkali-free fiberglass onto copper (aluminum) conductors, followed by impregnation and baking with insulating varnish matching the required temperature index and compatibility. This process bonds the fiberglass layers and the fiberglass-to-conductor interface into an integral winding wire. The product is available in three temperature classes: 130°C, 155°C, and 180°C, with insulation thickness options of 20, 30, 40, and 50 grades. It is used in windings for transformers, electromagnets, welding machines, and similar electrical equipment. The core conductor material is extruded bare copper (aluminum) electrical wire. Customized insulation combinations such as fiberglass + film wrapping or fiberglass + enamel coating are also available.

- Aluminum flat wire: Narrow side a = 0.8–10.0 mm, Wide side b = 3.0–22.0 mm

Wrapping and Insulation Thickness Requirements
Fiberglass shall be wrapped tightly and evenly on the conductor surface. For double-layer fiberglass-covered wire, the two layers shall be wrapped in opposite directions. The insulation thickness of double-layer fiberglass-covered copper (aluminum) flat wire shall comply with the following (insulation thickness on the narrow side B-b is not assessed):
- Nominal thicknesses: 0.2 mm (tolerance –20%), 0.3 mm, 0.4 mm, 0.5 mm
Electrical Performance
The breakdown voltage of fiberglass-covered wire shall meet the following requirements:
- Single-layer fiberglass-covered (G11): Minimum breakdown voltage ≥ 350 V
- Double-layer fiberglass-covered (G12): Minimum breakdown voltage ≥ 560 V
Product Characteristics
The insulation layer of fiberglass-covered wire offers good wear resistance, adhesion, and flexibility, along with excellent thermal shock resistance and overload performance.
